Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Christmas tree in background! Yay its all most Christmas and we are going to Hawaii in January!! I made these today because they sounded good...haha! I wouldnt let anyone eat any off the two teared cake plates cause it looked so good so they had to go eat the left over ones int he kitchen still on the pan. I've had like 10! I also went to the store today and got a lot of junk food. Chips, candy, cheese sauce, turkey, pesto pasta sauce, strawberries and chocolate! Its been a good day!

How to:

preparation: wash strawberries and let them dry  a an hour before dipping them. ( if you don't the chocolate wont stick as easy)

1. put a bag and a half of chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave them for 30 sec. take them out and stir them. (this will usually cover 2 cases of strawberries)
2. put them back in for 30 sec. and stir them.(keep doing that tell the chocolate has no chunks.)
3. add a tablespoon of Crisco to the melted chocolate stir. really well.
4. grab a strawberry by the stem (make sure you are holding all of the leaves so they don't get chocolate on them)
5. dip the strawberry in the chocolate and get every side in chocolate as close to the stem as possible without touching it.
6. let the strawberry drip.
7. lat the strawberry on a cookie sheet with wax paper.

optional: melt white chocolate or dark chocolate and take a fork and lightly "fling" the chocolate over the dipped strawberries.
